Gray Wolf Recovery
Weekly Progress Report

January 19, 1996

Monitoring

Today was very successful in the field, even with the temperatures remaining at about -30 degrees Fahrenheit. Seven wolves, all gray, from the same pack were captured when they were found feeding on a bison. This group includes the adult female that bred, an adult male, a young adult and four yearling pups. This now brings the total to 16 wolves for reintroduction to Yellowstone National Park and central Idaho.

The weekly wolf report can now be viewed at the Service's Region 6 web site at www.r6.fws.gov/wolf.
