The photo was taken from Haymaker Pass, in late July 1996. The view is southward toward Francs Peak, the highest mountain in the Absaroka Range of Wyoming. Increasingly this SE corner of the Washakie Wilderness is home to the great bear -- the grizzly.  Shortly after I took this photo, I saw a herd of cattle run at breakneck speed down the gully with the trees in the center of the photo.  I think something was after them
